The IChing is an ancient device for predicting and interpreting human affairs, having been used by the Chinese for thousands of years. Legend has it that its inventor, the Emperor FU HSI, discovered the layout for it's patterns of divination on the back of a tortoise shell.

The oldest book in existence attempting to bring moral order to the affairs of men, the IChing started out being used mostly as an almanac, but over the centuries it continued to be revised and elaborated by numerous Chinese scholars, philosophers and men of politics, adding commentaries and text to expand its meaning. The most famous among these being the great CONFUCIUS himself, who added the dimension of focus on inner development while laying out a course for personal action.

During the early part of this century the IChing found its most famous proponent in the western culture in CARL GUSTAV JUNG, who saw in The Book of Changes a correlation to his theory of the Collective Unconscious.

When using the IChing we make use of a pool of Knowledge that is cosmic and divine as much as it is deeply private and personal in every instance. It offers us enlightening insights into the workings of the world and our place in it, while making us realize that we have really known these truths all along. It is ever changing in its different outcomes, yet the wisdom it dispenses is something eternal.
